So, La Reina and I watched this last night. We both thought it was very good. Great atmosphere - very creepy, from the opening scene all the way through.
Then I got in trouble because in the frightening mood afterwards, I acted like Kinski for a moment and scared her to death. Had to spend the next hour apologizing!
What are you, a method-actor or something? Did you get a little too nippy?
Yes, Bruno Ganz is very good.
I haven't seen this film in a long long time... I saw it at the Harvard Square Cinema by myself. I remember it being ver dark and gothic. Slow-paced, but good nonetheless.
Oddly enough, my favorite Dracula adaptation was a 1973 made-for-TV version starring Jack Palance.
Hmm... Hard to imagine Palance as Dracula, but it's interesting watching the trailer.
In all honesty, I haven't seen many Dracula movies. I'm not even sure I've seen the Lugosi version all the way through, though I may have when I was kid. Saw a few moments of the Coppola version, which didn't make me want to run out and watch the whole thing.

I must confess, I've never seen either version of Nosferatu, Murnau's original silent or Herzog's. Might have to watch one tonight.

Don't feel bad, I love the Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin Special. Sally's rant in the pumpkin patch is one of the all-time greats.
