Not to gloat...
... but I've got to give credit where credit is due.
I'm not the most chauvinistic and rabid of Red Sox fans, but I have to make note of this accomplishment. The Red Sox did an amazing job of coming back from a 3-1 deficit to win the American League Pennant in seven games. Now it's on to face the red-hot Colorado Rockies in the World Series, winners of 21 out of their last 22 games.
The stars are really aligned for this region's teams right now. The rest of the country must want to burn New England down...
The Sox win the ALCS in 7.
The Patriots are 7-0
The Boston College Eagles (football) are 7-0, ranked # 2 overall (unfortunately, I'm a Notre Dame fan... don't ask how they're doing)
The Bruins are still hapless, but at least the Celtics picked up Kevin Garnett.

So the Red Sox are definitely going to the world series? Who're they playing against? I'm so out of the sports loop, although I watched a bit of the Patriots game yesterday. (The station came in better than the one they were broadcasting the Seahawks game on.)
I'm still in shellshock (Mets fan). I do like the Sox, though.
Go BC. I will always cheer for the Jesuits, though I am a Notre Dame fan as well.
Hey Garpu,
How are you? Yep, they are in the Series. Can't tell you much about the Colorado Rockies, execpt that they are on a heck of a winning streak.
I didn't see the Pats. Heard it on the radio, as I was driving halfway across the state to one of my son's soccer games. :-)
Liam, the Mets!!! Whattahappen??
My condolences... that was a rough way to end the season.
That ND "Real Men of Genius" parody was a classic! Very funny. I have a lot of friends I'd like to send that to, but I'm not sure if their senses of humor are quite up to it this year.
Grumble, grumble, grumble. Yeah. Curses, curses, curses. Congrats. I guess. Grumble, grumble, grumble.
I was pulling for the Indians.
I will be pulling for the Rockies. (Actually, I saw their first game ever played - against the Mets at Shea. I still have a Rockies cap somewhere, if I can dig it out of the closet.)
Teams should PAY ME to root for their opponents. That's the kind of luck I have.
Ah, man. Our football teams are headed in about as opposite directions as possible. I saw some of the Pats game. Okay, I concede. Randy Moss is incredible. You guys got an absolute steal for a 4th round pick. Brady is beyond amazing. What can I say? 27 touchdowns and 2 picks after 7 games. I've never seen anything like it. Because there's never been anything like it. Not even Manning.
Well, congratulations. I'll never forget the night when they did the same thing to the Yankees a few years back. I was walking to the Red Line to go home from Canon Law class.
There was a healthy joy, but also a kind of rotten satisfaction at having shamed them...
My mother is from Gloucester, so I have roots in the larger Boston area. Unfortunately, these ancestors were Boston Braves fans, and thus were against the Sox!
Gee William, you'e always going to root against my teams, even if your dog isn't in the hunt? How thoughtful of you... Although, if you are telling me that you have a congenital jinx factor going, perhaps I should thank you. ;-)
Because there's never been anything like it. Not even Manning.
Yes, Archie was amazing.
Manning? Please. If you had said "Favre", you'd have been onto something. Peyton Manning has had Marvin Harrison to throw to for his entire career. Now we get the chance to see what Brady can do with talent of the same caliber.
Friar Charles,
Ah, riding the red and the green lines after a tiring night of classes. I can relate, believe me. I know the feeling.
Don't feel too bad about relishing that comeback vs. the Yankees. That was just a matter of biblical justice finally being rendered.
I do, however, feel badly for the Tribe fans. Cleveland has had it really tough.

You mean Glosta? :-)
