Like I'm sure a million other people are doing, I'll put up a video of him singing his signature piece, Nessun Dorma. I don't know where Youtube gets the bandwidth.
pavarotti was so great. but did you ever hear a recording of gigli? I guess you and jack are in schism, but he does pay you a great tribute on his blog. i think he's scared anna away. got first ugly e-mail yesterday. jack's cousin is visiting and sometimes writes jack's blog based on 70 years of discussion. so if you see a comment signed Robert jack will take full responsibility. robert is strongly anti-catholic, but he represents jack here. alice
I have never written anything on this blog that was intentionally meant to harm one of my correspondents.
Furthermore, no value judgements should be read into the timing of my posts. If I can't get around to responding to a post in what seems to be a timely manner, it doesn't necessarily mean that I am ignoring it. I have a large family and a fairly high-stress job. There are a lot of demands upon my time. I'm not out here monitoring this blog all the time. There are entire days that go by without my getting to it. If I haven't responded to a post, it most likely means that I haven't seen it yet, or that I haven't had the time to craft a thoughtful reply.
Jack/Alice,
From the bottom of my heart, I meant no harm, I promise you. What was told to me in confidence was accepted graciously and without judgement. What was told to me in confidence will stay that way forever. I will divulge it to no one. That is a solemn promise. As for the recent controversy, I made an effort in good faith to explain what happened. The explanation was not accepted, and only seemed to fan the flames further. After everything that has happened since, and sadly, still continues to go on, I just want to ask you respectfully and without rancor, to please leave me alone here from now on.
Garpu,
On the Youtube page, copy the entire URL from the textbox where it says EMBED (make sure you copy the whole thing). On your blog, paste those contents into the HTML edit panel, and it should work OK.
Grrrf. That's what I did. Ah well. Got to be my broadband at home, since it works fine here.
I know what you're going through lately...I have to cram in my blogging lately to minutes between support calls at my day job. Although DSL constantly dropping does add an interesting element of risk to online gaming.
Let's see...I've done "Dark Age of Camelot," City of Heroes/Villains, and now I'm into Lord of the Rings Online. I didn't think I'd like it, since I generally hate games after books/movies, but it's kind of nifty. A lot like WoW, actually. These games have the advantage that the Hoopy Frood and I can do something together, when we're on opposite coasts.

How'd you get youtube videos to work properly? I tried to post one to my blog yesterday, but it keeps hanging. :/

Jeff, were you talking to me about the ignoring thing? I just deleted because I worried it might be too personal, on second thought.
Crystal,
No, that was a general remark to everyone. Sometimes I just can't get around to replying to posts quickly.
I will thank you again and honor your request. Jack

Garpu,
What kind of gaming are you into? Do you do that 'Second Life' thing? :-)
