The Green and Red of Mayo

The Saw Doctors - The Green and Red of Mayo

I guess it's time for me to join everyone else and post the obligatory YouTube video on my blog.... It was only a matter of time...

Here is a photo-montage of images set to The Green and Red of Mayo by the Irish Band The Saw Doctors.

Thanks Paula. The Saw Doctors are one of my favorite bands, although they are a little rough around the edges...

I'm glad you caved in to at least one YouTube, and this one is lovely. I didn't see Mayo, but I saw Dingle, where the sea kissed the shore.. and the feelin' came over me, Stay forevermore. Oh, absolutely. A Kerryman refers to the great ancient quiet as "God-breathed."

Interesting band. I'd never heard of them, but anyone who sings of Ireland is ok in my book. My daughter likes Dropkick Murphys. We at least live in Tommy Makem country where we get to sing (and go to Confession and Mass) with him; his boys are carryin' on the tradition, too.

Hi Anonymous... Didn't see this here for a while.

Tommy Makem? The man is a genius. There have been many St. Patrick's Days when my friends and I have bellowed out those old Clancy Bros. and Makem rebel tunes.

You're from Ireland? One of my biggest regrets about my trip to Ireland was that I didn't get to Dingle. The night before I was supposed to go I realized that I had left a jacket with all my traveler's checks in a hotel in Galway, and I had to go all the way back there from Killarney.
